Anglers who envision owning a tough, shallow water fishing boat that offers big boat benefits can now turn their dreams into reality. The 186 Flats by Ocean Master is a super strong, high-performance flats boat that delivers the advantages of a much larger skiff.

"The first flats boat to live up to the

Ocean Master reputation"

The Ocean Master 186 features 3 livewells, lockable storage for eight rods and fore and aft oversized gear compartments. Additional features include large anchor locker, console with front seat and rear bench seat, and a unique built-in toe rail on the casting deck to provide sure footing for fly-fishing.

With an 8 foot beam and double deadrise hull, the 186 is incredibly stable. Its bullet-proof construction is every bit as tough as the larger Ocean Master boats. In fact, massive fiberglass stringers from the Ocean Master 31’ form the main support system in the skiff and are foam filled for a quiet ride. The one-piece fiberglass inner liner and deck cap are bonded to the stringers and hull for unbeatable endurance.

The extremely efficient hull design has a 10” draft and is rated for a 150 hp engine. A 50 gallon fuel tank for long range runs is located underneath the cockpit sole for the lowest possible center of gravity. The Hauptner 18' is a multi-talented fishing platform. She is supremely capable of stalking gamefish on the flats but is equally up to the task of running in less than ideal sea conditions. In a word, she is every bit an Ocean Master.
